On Tuesday 27th November 2012, a group tutorial was arranged to feedback on where people are regarding their project. There were many ideas and suggestions that were given to further develop and continue the project.
The latest communication supported by United Colors Of Benetton is The Unemployee Of The Year campaign. “The UNEMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR communication campaign, set up under the aegis of the UNHATE Foundation, seeks to challenge clichés about youth non-employment and asserts a belief in the creativity of the world’s youth. Through it, the UNHATE Foundation, whose aim is to promote a culture of non-hate, will support youth to become actors of change against indifference and stigma.”
Following on from my previous post, I attended a workshop that gave valuable and practical information in the world of advertising. I had an insight into what exactly advertising is all about and what ad campaigns are about. During the workshop we had a look at the company United Color of Benetton and their print ad campaigns. There were a variety of opinions and thoughts about the advertisements.
I presented my idea and design brief for critical feedback as well as finding out what I should do next. It was suggested to me that I have a look over my initial idea and try to create an advertisement that was almost quirky, exciting and somewhat ‘out of my comfort zone’. I needed to look and research more thoroughly into advertising agencies and see what kind of advertising campaigns they create.
Below is a PDF format of my initial design brief for my client. The brief gives a detailed account of what I am going to create and how I intend on going about it. It also explains who my client is and the ‘problem’ I intend on solving.
With the content of my research poster finalized I began to focus my attention on designing the poster. I wanted the design to be able to relate to my research question without over powering and taking away the attention to much.
I received constructive feedback and amendment suggestions that would overall improve my research poster.
To begin the process of creating my research poster I used a template structure that I found whilst researching into what a research poster is all about. I mimicked the colours and basic layout just to initially incorporate my content in, and then in due time work on the design and how I can relate it to my chosen research proposal.
